FedEx Freight Tracking

FedEx offers reliable less-than-truckload (LTL) and express freight shipping and tracking options to suit a shipper’s needs when shipping goods exceeding 150 lbs. FedEx’s freight shipping wing offers myriad services, including land, sea, and air freight, deliverable within the same, next, 1, 2, 3, and up to five business days.

For each of these services, you can track your freight shipment from end to end with a unique tracking number. FedEx assigns a tracking ID to each skid in multi-pallet shipments, helping the shipper and consignee stay updated on the whereabouts of any freight shipment.

FedEx Freight Tracking Number

Knowing the status of your FedEx Freight package is possible thanks to a unique tracking number assigned to it when it arrives at a FedEx facility. This tracking number helps to identify your FedEx Freight package from the millions of other freight and shipments the company handles.

The FedEx Freight tracking number is typically a 10 or 12-digit numeral-only code that can be used to track the status of your freight package wherever it is at any particular time. Some examples of FedEx Freight tracking numbers include the following.

- 9246932903

- 773218550088

This tracking number is usually included in the freight shipment confirmation email the carrier sends to the recipient. If no such email has been forwarded, you can also request the sender share the freight tracking number with you.

FedEx Freight Tracking API

FedEx Freight offers a tracking API for businesses to integrate into their platforms smoothly and better the tracking experience. However, some inevitable shortcomings of FedEx cannot be ignored. For example, it limits users to just one tracking platform, leading to regular toggling between different tracking platforms for those using various couriers. FedEx Freight Tracking only simultaneously supports 30 queries, which is significantly inadequate for businesses. Therefore, this article recommends an alternative tracking API – TrackingMore to free you of these problems.

Why Should I Use TrackingMore API Instead?

TrackingMore outwins FedEx Freight Tracking from the following perspectives.

High integration: TrackingMore integrates 1226 carriers, including FedEx Freight, DHL, UPS, etc.

Reliable availability: TrackingMore guarantees a remarkable 99.9% API uptime, improving its reliability.

Diverse codes: TrackingMore supports multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, etc., which enables developers to effectively and smoothly customize their APIs.

Timely support: TrackingMore has a dedicated professional team to offer continuous technical support.

FAQs on FedEx Freight Tracking

  • What is the difference between FedEx Parcel and FedEx Freight?

The major difference lies in weight. Parcels are less than 150 lbs while freight is heavier than 150 lbs.

  • Can I track FedEx Freight with Bill of Lading?

Yes. You can track FedEx Freight with a Bill of Lading. Usually tracking by something other than tracking numbers is considered as tracking by reference. Bill of Lading is a kind of reference number. Tracking by reference number is supported only by three categories of FedEx services: FedEx Express, FedEx Ground,  and FedEx Ground Economy. Therefore, before tracking by BOL, make sure this function applies to the shipping solution you choose.

  • Can I track FedEx Freight by Pro Number?

Yes. However, tracking FedEx Freight by pro number is only suitable for two services: less-than-truckload (LTL) and FedEx Express® Freight services.

  • How long does FedEx freight take?

The shipping time varies with many factors, including the logistic solutions, origins, destinations, etc. Generally speaking, it takes 1-5 business days if you choose domestic FedEx freight shipping services. Shipping by air takes a time ranging from hours to 3 business days based on the service you choose. However, it is not clarified how long for LTL and ocean services. Therefore, to clearly know what to expect about your freight, use FedEx Tracking or the best third-party platform TrackingMore to get timely and accurate shipping details.

  • Does FedEx Freight deliver on Saturday?

It depends on the service you choose. For example, FedEx Express Freight supports Saturday delivery with an additional fee. FedEx SameDay Freight delivers every day. Accordingly, to know whether FedEx Freight delivers on Saturday, it is suggested to visit the official webpage and read the details about the services.
